SUBJECT:
Resolution to approve a rental agreement with West Aurora School District 129 for the City of Aurora's Youth Services division
PURPOSE:
The City of Aurora's Youth Services has provided quality programs for youth, including the Aurora Youth Council, summer camps, and more. The agreement with West Aurora School District 129 will assist the Youth Services division and to continue providing youth programs to all students, including those in School District 129.
BACKGROUND:
The proposed agreement allows the Youth Services division to provide a soccer field for students at Greenman and Smith Elementary, and possibly other schools in that district. School staff can determine use of this field, including during physical education classes, recess, after-school activities, and more.
DISCUSSION:
This agreement is beneficial for the City of Aurora's Youth Services division and ensures quality programs can continue to be provided to students throughout Aurora.
There is no cost to West Aurora School District 129 for the field to be placed at the agreed upon locations. The City of Aurora assumes all liability for the use of the equipment and is providing the School District with an additional insured certificate of insurance.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
This agreement will have a direct and positive impact on our youth and their families as this will assist in continuing quality programming.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed resolution be approved.
